The Acceleration of Light, Aceleritas

I want to dedicate this great scientific article to the discussion of the acceleration of light. For more than 100 years we have talked and built science on the constant speed of light. Now I want us to begin to talk and build science on a new concept which is the acceleration of light.

I want to begin from a historical perspective so that you will come to understand how the acceleration of light has become paramount for science.

Since the Danish astronomer, Olaus Roemer measured the speed of light and Maxwell described electromagnetism and arrived at the fact that light is an electromagnetic wave propagating through space at a constant speed, scientists have become used to the fact that light travels only at a constant speed.

We cannot neglect the fact that Maxwell’s realization could not be reconciled with Newtonian laws as at the early twentieth century, even though most physicists of that time or era saw no need for such unification.

The need for the unification of Newtonian mechanics and Maxwell’s electromagnetic theory was to come from the unexpected outcome of an experiment which is popularly called the Michelson-Morley experiment. This famous experiment was set-up to confirm the speed of light in the aether. The aether was conceived as a medium which fills all of space and which carries the electromagnetic wave. Now, and like Maxwell had predicted the speed of light proved to be constant.

This result confounded the scientific community of that era, and to explain this bizarre result, some physicist proposed a new theory which was called relativity. Henri Poincare and especially Hendrick Lorentz, who were the earliest pioneers of this theory, proposed that the reason for the observed constancy of light is because space contracts and time dilates as bodies move through the aether.

This new theory seemed to be useful, but its proposal of the aether had no experimental validation and which the Michelson-Morley experiment had proved. So, there seemed to be a tremendous need for a new theory that would adequately explain the Michelson-Morley experiment.

This need was met in 1905 when Albert Einstein published five seminal papers that have greatly influenced scientific thinking ever since. In the paper which addressed the problem of relativity and which Einstein titled “The Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies”, Einstein dismissed the idea of an aether. This was the bold move needed to simplify the principles of relativity.

So Einstein proceeded to found relativity on the constancy of the speed of light. The constancy of the speed of light is no longer just a fact, it is the cornerstone of modern physics.

Also, Einstein 1905 paper on photoelectric effect established light as consisting of massless particles which Einstein called photons. So, in a general sense, the constancy of the speed of light and the existence of photons constitute the pillars or cornerstones of  modern physics.

Einstein’s paper on relativity which he called special relativity because it deals with bodies in uniform motion established relativity as a field of study in physics, while Einstein’s concept of photon gave birth to a new field of physics called quantum mechanics. Quantum mechanics describes the world of atoms and the fundamental interactions of light.

Einstein also proceeded to extend the principles of relativity to accelerated frames which he called general relativity. Both special relativity and general relativity today constitute the two branches of relativity.

No doubt these are tremendous achievements, especially by one man, however, a problem arose. A problem which the early founders of the two great theories of twentieth science contended with and which was not solved until today.

What was this great problem?

This great problem was that relativity and quantum mechanics cannot unify. This problem was further compounded with the fact that no one could intuitively comprehend or interpret quantum mechanics. The operations of the atomic world confounded the early founders of quantum mechanics.

All these problems bring us back to Einsteins two central contributions to science. One which is the constancy of the speed of light and the other which is the existence of the photon. So why can’t both theories unify? It is because of a supposed impossible occurrence or possibility in the universe. It is because of a truth that the Michelson-Morley experiment could not capture.

This great problem is because the greatest truth of quantum mechanics or the atomic world is missing in our understanding. This greatest truth which solves the great problem is the acceleration of light. Light accelerates and does not travel at a constant speed in the atomic world.

The absence of this great truth in quantum mechanics is the reason why we have failed to intuitively understand quantum mechanics since its inception. Now, between the concept or the fact of the constancy of the speed of light and the existence of photon, the existence of photon will be discarded. The photon does not exist.

This is hugely because the Michelson-Morley experiment informed us that light travels at a constant speed. We have since failed to realize that yes light travels at a constant speed but only outside the atom. Inside the atom light is an accelerating wave.

Before I proceed let’s clearly define the notation for the acceleration of light. The speed of light is denoted as c which was gotten from the Latin word celeritas which means speed. The acceleration of light which is now denoted as ac represents the newly coined latin word, aceleritas.

In today’s science, when we move from the outside world into the world of atoms and particles, we wrongly assume only a change in the essence of light from a wave to a particle while it maintains the constant speed c. And now we wonder why we don’t understand quantum mechanics.

In post-modern physics, when we move from the outside world into the world of atoms and particles, we realize a change in the essence of light from a constant speeding wave at speed c to an accelerating wave denoted as ac.

We have come to understand that something very profound and fundamental happens to the nature of light when we move from outside the atomic world into the atomic world. The translation of light from a constant speeding wave to an accelerating wave constitutes the divide in principle between the outside world and the atomic world.

We have now come to know that the constancy of the speed of light which is the foundation of special and general relativity cannot be applied within the atom. Rather the acceleration of light is the new foundation for the relativity of the motion of bodies within the atom.

So a whole new body of scientific principles is been built on the acceleration of light just as we have built a magnificent body of scientific principles on the constant speed of light. The acceleration of light illuminates us about the true operations of the atomic world.

Now, we haven’t and cannot observe the acceleration of light because we are bodies existing outside the atomic world; thus, our perception and in fact the reality of light which we can observe is that of a constantly speeding wave, but within the atom or for an electrical body such as an electron, light is constantly experienced as an accelerating wave.

The acceleration of light is fundamental. It is the light of the particle physicist and the electrical and electronic engineers. Without the acceleration of light, there will be no fundamental electromagnetic interaction and the movement of electrons in a circuit would be impossible.

I shall show you in my future article how the acceleration of light is the foundation of the electromagnetic interaction between charged bodies and not the physical property of charge. The particle physicists still got stuck in modern physics are coming to the wrong and sad realization that particle physics may have hits its limits because of the absence of the discovery of any new particle in the LHC.

But I want them to know that particle physics is about to have a new turn, a profound discovery and realization is about to be made that would change how we do particle physics forever. This is because the acceleration of light which is the light of the particle physicist has been discovered. I will write about this breakthrough experiment soon.

Now, while we may be fine just limiting the constancy of the speed of light in special relativity to phenomena which occur outside the atom, we cannot carry our notion of the constant speed of light into the atom. And importantly, quantum mechanics would now be of an even a lesser use than special relativity because it supports the constancy of the speed of light and not the acceleration of light.

Einstein energy equation E=mc2 and the photoelectric equation E=hf which both hold the constancy of light speed have been unitedly applied in quantum mechanics. But sadly, we can no longer continue to understand the atomic world by such union.

Though I think I would let the evolution of post-modern physics decide how we shall apply these equations, I must however opine that they don’t help us understand the atomic world. Absolute relativity is the only true conceptual framework for understanding the universe.

The acceleration of light is the greatest long hidden secret of the atomic world which is now being revealed to us in the post-modern age of science. I had come across this idea quite easily when I was writing The Theory of the Universe.

It was almost natural. Immediately I proceeded to part II of the treatise to describe the atomic world, I just knew that light accelerates in the atomic world. And with this realisation, I could describe in a new and very illuminating manner the operations of the atomic world.

In hind sight, I think it was due to the fact that I was doing absolute science, and you know that according to the principles of absolute science what we would call the acceleration of light in the atomic world would be called the least vertical resistance to accelerated motion. I realized first-hand the power of absolute science as the greater science.

When you do absolute science which describes the metaphysical universe, it becomes very easy to understand our observations in the physical universe. This is the core reason why we have failed to understand the universe and why sadly our current edifice of science would have to crumble as a means of establishing scientific understanding.

Contrary to what you might think, the science of today lacks understanding. Our current theories and equation have only being strongly predictive and we have designed our current technologies and tools based on the predictive nature of our current relative science.

Our progress in technological advancement since the birth of quantitative science has deceived us into taking it as also meaning advancement in scientific understanding. This is a very false notion. We can design machines, just like we have, without really knowing how the universe works.

To really know how the universe works would require us to abandon relative science as a means of understanding the universe and begin to do absolute science which is explanative at its core. However, after understanding is achieved, it becomes very easy to establish from it the predictive components of relative science. This is how I came about the acceleration of light which I have afore described.

The acceleration of light does not up-turn completely the fact that light travels at a constant speed, rather we now know that light travels at a constant speed only outside the atom. Inside the atom, light is an accelerating wave.

Furthermore, just as the speed of light is strongly associated with the principle of inertia, the newly discovered acceleration of light is strongly associated with the new principle of non-inertia. You should please understand these things.

The acceleration of light now more concretely reveals to us that the principle of inertia does not operate or govern motion within the atomic world. Rather the atomic world is governed by the new principle of non-inertia which I have begun to elucidate in my articles.

The absence of this new principle in modern physics further shows us why we haven’t understood quantum mechanics for the past 100 years. This sad condition of darkness is over, light has come!

In post-modern physics we have made a revolutionary progress in our understanding of light and till the end of scientific investigation the speed of light (c celeritas) and the acceleration of light (ac aceleritas) shall be the two important concepts which causes the distinction in the associated principles of motion of the macro world of ponderable bodies and the micro world of electrical bodies.
