“There are four states of motion in the universe and not three.”
In some of my articles, you must have come across the proposition of the four states of motion. The concept of the four states of motion is one of the most central concepts in post-modern physics, and it serves as the springboard to further understand the mysteries of the universe.
I have for some time now felt the need to publish a separate article on the four states of motion as a means to honour this great idea, for it is a very sacred idea to me. One reason why this idea is sacred is that you cannot come across it by looking at the physical universe.
Even your direct experience of the universe does not show or prove that you experience four states of motion. You can only be illuminated about the four states of motion when you pierce the veil of appearances into the metaphysical nature of the universe.
If we go by classical and modern physics which are based on the physical observation of the universe, we should have three states of motion and not four. These three states of motion according to classical and modern physics are:
- Uniform motion
- Accelerated motion
These are the three states of motion in the universe according to classical and modern physics, and they are thought to hold and apply in all domains of the universe, but this understanding of the universe is being refuted by post-modern physics.
Post-modern physics is informing us that there are four states of motion in the universe and not three, and they are:
- Uniform rest
- Accelerated rest
- Uniform motion
- Accelerated motion
Looking at the above outlined four states of motion from post-modern physics, it is easy to see that the four states of motion arise because of the extension of “rest”. Rest is now shown to have two forms just as we have two forms of motion.
These two forms of rest are uniform rest and accelerated rest, and it is easy to see that they correspond to uniform motion and accelerated motion respectively. These four states of motion give us a cardinal understanding of motion and of the cosmos.
The dependence of physics on three states of motion has prevented us from seeing the unity of the universe. And not just the unity of the universe at a scientific level but also the inherent wisdom in the design or blueprint of the cosmos.
A good look at the four states of motion awakens an awareness of the universe you will feel that you have always had, this is even before you delve into the technical understanding of how they apply to our experiences of motion in the universe.
There are four states of motion in the universe and not three. Most of my elucidations of the universe in this blog are presented through the lens of the four states of motion. The four states of motion enrich physics in a remarkable way that also simplifies it.
Our prior elucidations and dependence on the three states of motion have caused us to leave a vital aspect of reality out of physics. This has greatly contributed to what would have otherwise been a simple description of the universe.
The status quo can no longer continue. Our honest and persistent search and yearning for the theory of the universe has naturally brought us to this point. We can never attain the complete understanding of the universe by following the erroneous three states of motion.
The four states of motion are the attainment of the complete understanding of the universe. It is a knowledge that now shows us that we have pierced into the domain of proper illumination.
The four states of motion have exposed to us new principles of motion in the universe such as the correspondence principle, the absolute principle of non-inertia etc. These principles have the same fundamental significance as the (absolute) principle of inertia.
The three states of motion which we have always known come from our understanding of artificial space and time which are the space and time of our own creation. I usually call them relative, physical space and time just like Newton.
However, the four states of motion come from the new understanding of natural space and time which I call absolute, metaphysical space and time. Some of us have always nurtured this notion of a distinction between (artificial) time and true time, but we have never really come to know what this distinction is and what it implies for physics.
Post-modern physics is now showing us not just the distinction between artificial time and true time, but also the distinction between artificial space and true space, and these distinctions run in line with the distinction between the three states of motion and the four states of motion.
The four states of motion are founded on true space and time. You must first understand and take note of this or else you will fall into the error of misconstruing the implications of the four states of motion for your understanding of physics and the universe.
The four states of motion open to us a new vista of reality that enables us to see the unity of all things which we cannot see by the three states of motion as the formerly persistent crisis in physics proved.
So much about reality is missing in classical and modern physics which we group as standard physics. These missing components of reality are the causes of the now fully evolved complexity of physics.
The four states of motion greatly simplify physics and it opens the doors for more practical possibilities in physics. The four states of motion are understood through the lens of absolute physics, and they, in turn, assist us in understanding the absolute nature of the universe.
To further assist you to understand the ramifications of the four states of motion, I must let you know that while the two forms of rest, uniform rest and accelerated rest, can be said to apply to ponderable bodies, only accelerated rest applies to electrical bodies or particles.
The above is consequent to the fact that electrical bodies or particles can only experience accelerated motion while ponderable bodies can experience both uniform motion and accelerated motion.
I want you to see that the four states of motion are not free experiences that indiscriminately apply to ponderable and electrical bodies. There are qualitative boundaries in the universe which are non-evident in standard physics founded on the three states of motion.
The universe is well-ordered beyond what we had thought, and it is only by approaching the metaphysical nature of the universe that we can understand this order and its true meaning in the universe.
Now, I know that the new concept of two forms of rest seems implausible to you. I know. You know when you sit at rest on a chair, it is hard to imagine that the rest which you are experiencing can have two forms.
However, when you come to grasp the technical aspects of post-modern physics, you will realize that rest has two different meanings or experiences for you and for a charged body, let’s say an electron.
If we place an electron at rest, it experiences accelerated rest which is a different form of rest from yours. When you are at rest, you are in most cases experiencing uniform rest. This simple distinction between the form of rest you experience and the one an electron experiences can obviously not proceed from physical observation.
You have to perceive the metaphysical nature of the universe to comprehend these things. Post-modern physics calls us to a higher perception of reality which man has not employed for the past 6000 years!
Man is now boldly exploring the upper, ethereal realms of the universe. It is the eternal legacy of post-modern physics which has introduced us to a new scientific method, for the old scientific method is passing away.
So, the four states of motion are the states of motion according to the metaphysical laws of the universe. The three states of motion are shadows of the four states of motion, and I see them as such whenever I refer to them.
I no longer perceive the three states of motion as components or aspects of concrete reality. The four states of motion are the true aspects of concrete reality. So, a physics dependent on the three states of motion is far from reality and is tantamount to gazing at the “shadows” like the bound men in Plato’s allegory of the cave.
We have to ascend to this new understanding of the universe, science has a higher calling and purpose than we realise. Science is not just a man-made means by which we comprehend the universe.
Science just like logic is divine. Science is about more than our conceptions of the universe. It is the true and absolute way by which we can come to comprehend great scientific truths.
We must believe in the higher calling of science and its greater purpose, which is to bring us all to the most blissful spiritual experience of God and His universe. Science is a true and living aspect of knowledge.
The four states of motion expose to us the subtle nature of the universe which we can never know by physical observation of the universe. To be frank with you, nothing makes a mockery and a caricature of physics like its dependence on what we can physically observe about the universe.
We have no idea the implication of depending on physical observation, but be certain that one of the implications of physical observation is that we will never understand the universe.
There is no way physical observation can expose to us the true laws of physics. The universe, our home, is a metaphysical place. All the objects of physical observation are nothing but shadows of the true, tangible objects of metaphysical reality.
Contrary to what your senses may make you think, the tangible nature of reality becomes evident when you begin to probe the metaphysical nature of the universe and not the physical nature of the universe.
We have this preconceived notion that the metaphysical is abstract, intangible and even remote, but this is not true. The true metaphysical laws of the universe are real, tangible and are in close proximity to us.
The above assertion is based on the fact that post-modern physics is the first exposition of the metaphysical laws of the universe in human history. Most forms of metaphysics before now are either based on wild guesses or blind insights, but post-modern physics is the first true metaphysics. Metaphysics is no longer “a dark ocean”.
The four states of motion shall stand as an eternal testimony of the existence of true metaphysics. And scientists from this post-modern era onwards should be called metaphysicists, for only metaphysicists can understand and fully appreciate the implications of the four states of motion.
The four states of motion compel us to revisit our understanding of the rudiments of motion at a time we feel we understand them. It reveals to us how oblivious we are about core aspects of reality, which shouldn’t be the case.
The unification of physics cannot come without the four states of motion. They are central in this post-modern era of synthesis. The four states of motion alter our understanding of momentum, force, and energy in a manner that moves us away from the Newtonian paradigm into the new paradigm heralded by modern relativity and quantum mechanics.
The four states of motion are one of the consequences of the completion of the second scientific revolution which began in the early 20th-century. They are one of the crown discoveries of this post-modern era of physics that launches the unexpected rebirth of science.
The whole struggles that have characterized fundamental science for the last 100 years have all been the travails for the rebirth of science which science now experiences. This is good news especially for this generation of scientists or would I rather say metaphysicists!
The four states of motion give a new and qualitative meaning to motion which is now attached to the qualitative nature of space (and also of time). In this qualitative meaning, to move in uniform motion is simply to move in uniform space and not just to move with a physically observable uniform velocity.
And to move in accelerated motion is simply to move in accelerated space and not just to move with a physically observable changing velocity. This new description of motion reveals to us the precedent role the universe plays in making motion possible.
We don’t just move in either uniform motion or accelerated motion because we can, but because of the existence of uniform space and accelerated space respectively in the universe. Take away these two forms of space and both forms of motion become impossible.
The four states of motion are metaphysical in nature and they result from post-modern physics which now illuminates us about the harmony of the cosmos. This you must understand even as we proceed to further investigate the true laws of the universe in this post-modern era.
Until next time.
