Introducing the Missing Naturalness of Accelerated Motion

To every physicist who has thought deeply about the fundamental problems of physics, there is a sense in which uniform motion appears more natural than accelerated motion.

In fact, at the first glance of Newton’s first law of motion where he implies that a body can continue indefinitely in uniform motion unless impressed by an external force, one gets the sense that uniform motion seems more natural than accelerated motion.

Now, I am not denying the naturalness of accelerated motion as it also occurs in nature, but I am saying that physics does not reflect the special possibility of accelerated motion proceeding indefinitely like uniform motion.

This is what I refer to as the missing naturalness of accelerated motion, and it is something that shows us that we are missing something very fundamental about accelerated motion and about the universe.

Furthermore, what makes uniform motion natural in physics is its obvious connection or relation to rest. This simple connection is what is referred to as the law of inertia and it is basically Newton’s first law of motion.

So, the apparent indefiniteness of uniform motion is because it is indistinguishable from rest. But this connection between motion and rest is absent for accelerated motion.

Newton and his contemporaries who were part of the early founders of physics were particularly puzzled by this obvious disparity between uniform motion and accelerated motion.

They were puzzled by the fact that bodies do not experience uniform and accelerated motions the same. We do not sense uniform motion, but we sense accelerated motion.

And they knew that this was because uniform motion was equivalent to being at rest while accelerated motion wasn’t.

However, this did not quench their curiosity as the experience of accelerated motion was presented by Newton as a prove of absolute space.

This remarkable presentation was captured by Newton’s bucket experiment with which Newton argued for absolutism. This simple but insightful experiment is among the few proofs we have of the existence of absolute space.

So, accelerated motion proved to be different from uniform motion and it showed no relationship to rest like uniform motion does.

In other words, uniform motion was based on a fundamental law called the law of inertia. But accelerated motion had no such fundamental basis or law.

This indicates that we have not yet understood accelerated motion and because of this missing part of our understanding of accelerated motion, our predecessors were particularly puzzled by the obvious stability of the galaxies and the atom, but especially of the atom.

And it was the attempt to resolve the latter puzzle that led to the creation and the development of quantum mechanics which now bedevils physics.

This is because, even with quantum mechanics, we still miss the truth about the stability of the atom and the reason for this goes way back to the foundation of physics where we missed the underlying law that governs all accelerated motions in the universe, both of atomic and non-atomic bodies.

This oversight haunted classical and modern physics and it led to many erroneous and unneeded theories and also the rising complexity of modern physics.

We have been studying accelerated motion in thin air without a solid foundation, to begin with. This is obviously not the way of physics.

True physics begins from a guiding principle, and on this guiding principle, the rising edifice is built up. But today we have a large volume of theories and predictions on accelerated motion without the guiding principle and this error goes way back to Newton.

Accelerated motion has become unnatural in physics unlike uniform motion, and for this reason, post-modern physics has come to address the situation and to finally give equal natural status to uniform and accelerated motions.

Now, how does this equal natural status come about? Simple, by making both forms of motion equivalent to two forms of rest in the universe.

In post-modern physics, we realize that just as there are two forms of motion in the universe – uniform motion and accelerated motion – so also there are two forms of rest – uniform rest and accelerated rest – in the universe.

As a result, it is now stated in post-modern physics that accelerated motion and accelerated rest are equivalent. This is called the law of non-inertia in post-modern physics.

This also leads to the modification of the law of inertia, which now states that uniform motion and uniform rest are equivalent. These two laws – the law of inertia and the law of non-inertia – make both uniform motion and accelerated motion natural and to be of equal status in physics.

We as physicists must begin to see the need of this and how it conforms to our underlying sense of unity. We must know that there is no way uniform motion and accelerated motion will not have relations to rest since it would satisfy our sense of cosmic harmony.

The universe is very particular about this and the law of inertia and the law of non-inertia are existent in the universe to prove this.

Now, with the law of non-inertia for accelerated motion, we begin to understand the stability of the galaxies and also of the atom. The atomic particles – though in accelerated motion around the nucleus – are in a state indistinguishable from accelerated rest.

The same applies to the stars and heavenly bodies that revolve around the galactic nucleus. Though they are in accelerated motion, they are in a state indistinguishable from accelerated rest.

The special case when we sense accelerated motion is the weak manifestation of the law of non-inertia and there is a reason for that which is beyond the scope of this article.

However, I must let you know that the newly discovered law of non-inertia is what restores the missing naturalness of accelerated motion. And it shows us that just as uniform motion has the possibility of proceeding indefinitely, so also does accelerated motion.

With this realization comes a change in our understanding of force. This new understanding of force has been presented in post-modern physics and I have discussed it in non-technical terms in this my article.

But in summary, we are learning that force can be associated with continuous accelerated motion and no longer as an agent that disrupts uniform motion like Newton taught us in his first law of motion.

So, just as we see uniform motion as a motion without any external influence, so we can also see accelerated motion as a motion without any external influence. The former is due to the law of inertia while the latter is due to the law of non-inertia.

This gives us a deeper understanding of accelerated motion, and all these are well presented in post-modern physics which is teaching us how we translate from uniform motion to accelerated motion while preserving the presented definition of naturalness.

This is why the naturalness of accelerated motion is crucial in physics. It would make us understand some of the mysteries of the universe, most of which have persisted long enough.

So, in physics, we now see the naturalness of accelerated motion due to the discovery of the fundamental law of non-inertia. This shows us not just the equal status of accelerated motion with uniform motion, it also reveals an underlying harmony existing between the two.

Therefore, this article is an article on unification as physics for the first time ever now declares the naturalness of accelerated motion which has been one of the pivotal missing components of physics.

And why this law of inertia is important is because accelerated motion is the more dominant form of motion in the universe. All natural motion of bodies is accelerated motion. That is, bodies can only accelerate when they are influenced by either light or gravity.

This shows us the special significance of accelerated motion in physics and why we must understand it from its foundation, which is on the law of non-inertia.

Furthermore, besides Newtonian mechanics, in Einsteinian relativity, we also find, in a more subtle manner, the missing naturalness of accelerated motion.

Now, in Einsteinian relativity, we find the inextricable union between light and uniform motion. And in fact, light constitutes the basis to interpret causality for all reference frames in uniform motion.

But we find that when we approach frames in accelerated motion, light is also applied and extended to explain causality for accelerated frames.

This is an error in itself because it denies accelerated frames their own unique union with another non-mechanical wave in the universe that is not light.

The union between light and frames in uniform motion is natural, but the extension to the union of light and frames in accelerated motion is unnatural.

This unnaturalness of accelerated motion in relativity can only be corrected by relating frames in accelerated motion with their own unique non-mechanical wave in the universe.

The unnaturalness of accelerated motion in Einsteinian relativity is why we have not been able to properly understand the instantaneous action of gravity, quantum entanglement, the stability of atoms and galaxies, among other mysteries in physics.

We must realize that for frames in accelerated motion, causality is interpreted on the basis of the gravi-electromagnetic action.

Thus, in post-modern physics, we interpret causality based on the electromagnetic wave for uniform frames and the gravi-electromagnetic wave for accelerated frames.

Now, it is also important to know that the law of non-inertia is adequately understood in relation to the behaviour of the gravi-electromagnetic wave.

This gives us the true, natural picture of accelerated frames even as we are introduced to the new branch of post-modern physics called Gravi-electrodynamics.

This is different from Electrodynamics which is the branch of physics that describes the relativity of frames in uniform motion. Gravi-electrodynamics describes the relativity of accelerated frames.

There are a whole lot of changes that introducing the missing naturalness of accelerated motion brings to physics and we are just beginning to unravel all of them.

The missing naturalness of accelerated motion is a major cause of the crisis and disunity in physics. So, the discovery of the naturalness of accelerated motion will resolve the crisis and bring final unity to physics.

Moreso, introducing the missing naturalness of accelerated motion will change how we understand uniform motion and show us the perfect construction of the puzzle called the universe.
