The Simple Things Nature Makes

Nature did not make

blankets and pillows;

she made skins and cuddles.

Not even the hour did nature make,

so be by your lover

and let some fire burn

till you know not your lone soul

and your lover the same.

For not on altars or courts

did nature make the union,

but in divine dreams

that lovers replay.

This love could spend my days

for nature did not make goals and visions;

she made body and soul,

the conveyors of love

and the imprints of memory.

Indeed, love is for the bold

that can embrace the simple things

nature makes,

that may have breath alone

yet be all that last forever.

Author’s Note: No man can chase two things at the same time. He has to forfeit one to gain the other, or he has to forfeit the other to gain the one.

Until next time,

I will be here.
